OUR MISSION
At RPM, finding a car and buying a car is simple. For one thing, we know that time is precious and money’s tight. We’re not going to waste your time trying to convince you to buy something you don’t want. We’re not going to squeeze you for money by talking you into something bigger, better, or redder. Plus, at RPM you deal only with the owners, Ron and Angela. Our organization isn’t really an organization at all. It’s just two blessed people who love each other and love what they do. We don’t answer to a hidden sales manager or a distant bean-counter. We’re just a couple people working with you to find a good match.
Now, here’s what we will do. We’re going to listen to you so we know what kind of car you really want. We’re going to show you everything about any car you’re interested in. Ron puts his heart and soul into them. He takes them apart when we get them and puts them back together before we sell them. We’ll give you a rundown of everything that was repaired, or replaced. Each car automatically gets an oil change, new front brakes, rear ones if it needs them, and fresh tires. If a car is even slightly off in any way when we get it, we make sure it’s running smoothly before it goes on the lot.
Ron makes sure they work, and Angela makes sure they’re safe. She test drives them and listens for clunks, rattles, grinding, or any kind of unhealthy noise. Anything suspicious gets checked out and fixed. Your car won’t have any cracks in the windshield, it won’t pull, you won’t hear any grinding when it shifts, you won’t smell any burnt oil or old antifreeze, and you definitely will not see the dreaded check engine light! There’s nobody going through their cars like we do. Our customers have told us over and over that we some of the nicest, cleanest cars they’ve seen. We’ve been doing this for going on 5 solid years now and we have an iron-clad local reputation. We think it’s time to let more people know we’re here.
This all started with one car. Years ago, Ron had a buddy who wanted to sell a silver 1987 Chrysler Aries K. (Anybody remember that car?) Ron thought to himself, “Let me see what I can do with this.” So he shined it up and put the car in the front yard at Angela’s dad’s house. Well, turns out you can’t have more than one vehicle for sale in a front yard at a time! So, before we knew it, we had cars in the front yards of family and friends all over Trumbull County. Pretty soon we realized we had a better product than everybody else. After this little business grew some legs and got bigger, we went through the formal process to get a dealer’s license and in 2011, we became RPM. Now we have a lot that holds 25 vehicles or so.
To us, it’s really simple - integrity sells. We refuse to sell rust. Ron always says, “If it’s no good, I’m not going to sell it.” We don’t pressure anyone into buying anything. We figure if it’s the right car and the right price, it’ll happen right now. If not, we know you’ll come back and see us later. But we don’t force anything into place. There’s no need to sell something to someone who can’t afford it. Someone else will come along and buy it. We don’t want to strap anybody.
At RPM, we try to do everything in a common sense way. We even do business at common sense times. The lot’s open during the hours that people can spend the time shopping - after work! We’re open from 6-8pm every Monday through Thursday then on Sunday 9-5. And if you only have Friday or Saturday available, that’s okay, we’ll make an appointment. Ron’s probably going to be here working on a car anyway.
